Thanks be to God! With all my heart, I thank you all! I am pleased to celebrate these events with so many friends. Thank you for your kindness, your sacrifices and prayers that you raise for me and for the whole Church.

I prayed to God the gift of the Spirit to renew the face of our earth home. The year 1979. The great pastor and great leader of the Polish Church, Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski, Primate of the Millennium, was at that time still with us.

So it will not be based on the unity of the Spirit. The deep foundation of unity was brought to Europe and consolidated over the centuries by Christianity with its Gospel, with its under-standing of the man and his contribution to the history of peoples and nations. It does not want ownership history. Indeed, the history of Europe is a great river, which lead many tributaries, and the variety of traditions and cultures that form, is its great wealth.

It is a challenge that the present time we propose and offer to all nations in the wake of processing as policies in the region of Central-Eastern Europe, have left the circle influences of atheistic Communism. This challenge, however, impose a duty upon the believers – the duty of an active construction of community spirit based on the values that have survived decades of efforts to introduce programmatically atheism.
